Audit, Compensation, Governance, and other committees are not just functional—they are where oversight is sharpened, strategy is shaped, and influence is built. Yet for many, how these committees operate—and how they work together—remains unclear.
In this session, we’ll take you inside the boardroom to explore how committees are structured, how responsibilities are divided, and how effective collaboration across committees drives better outcomes. More importantly, we’ll discuss how individual board members can establish credibility, contribute meaningfully, and build influence within these critical forums.

Laura Fulton
Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer
American Bureau of Shipping, Board Member and Audit Committee Chair of Targa Resources
Laura Fulton is the Senior VP and Chief Financial Officer of the American Bureau of Shipping. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Targa Resources Corp (NYSE:TRGP), where she serves as the Audit Committee Chairman and on the Nominating and Governance Committee. She was the CFO of Hi-Crush Inc. (NYSE:HCR), a premier provider of proppant and logistics services to the North American energy industry, and previously the EVP, CFO for AEI, an operator of energy infrastructure assets in emerging markets. Laura also worked with Lyondell Chemical Company and started her career with Deloitte in audit.
Laura was one of Oil & Gas Investor magazine’s 2019 “25 Most Influential Women in Energy”. Institutional Investor named her to the 2018 All-America Executive Team – Oil Services & Equipment - Best CFO nominated by the buy side and sell side. Laura was a Houston Business Journal 2018 CFO of the Year finalist, and their CFO of the Year for both Small Public Company and Community Impact categories in 2013.
Laura graduated cum laude from Texas A&M with a B.B.A. in Accounting. She was named an Outstanding Alumni of the May Business School in 2020 and joined the Accounting Department Hall of Honor in 2019. She serves on the Mays Dean's Advisory Board and Accounting Department Advisory Board, as well as the Board of the Houston Chapter of FEI
Evelyn Angelle
Independent director and Philanthropist
Ms. Angelle’s executive experience focused on the oilfield products and services industry, including being Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for BJ Services and various leadership roles at Halliburton.
Ms. Angelle was Senior Vice President of Supply Chain for Halliburton, leading more than 11,000 employees globally. Her organization consisted of 22 manufacturing facilities, as well as employees responsible for procurement, materials, and logistics in over 80 countries. Prior to that appointment, Ms. Angelle was Senior Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. In addition to these positions, Ms. Angelle held various executive positions in Finance, including serving as Vice President of Investor Relations, for which she oversaw Halliburton communications and relationships with investors and analysts.
Before joining Halliburton, Ms. Angelle worked for 15 years in the audit department of Ernst & Young LLP, where she specialized in serving large, multinational public companies and provided technical accounting and consultation to clients and other professionals.
Ms. Angelle is a member of the Board of Directors and serves as the chair of Forum Energy Technologies’ (NYSE: FET) Audit Committee. Forum Energy Technologies is a global oilfield products company serving the subsea, drilling, completion and infrastructure sectors of the energy industry. She also serves on the Audit Committee and Board of Directors of STEP Energy Services (TSX: STEP), a deep-capacity coiled tubing, fluid and nitrogen pumping and hydraulic fracturing solutions provider in North America. Ms. Angelle is a member of the Board of Managers and serves as the chair of Amp Americas II’s Audit Committee. Amp Americas II is a renewable natural gas company focused on dairy methane.
Ms. Angelle received her bachelor's degree in Accounting from Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana. She is a certified public accountant in Texas and a certified management accountant. She holds a certificate in cybersecurity risk oversight from Carnegie Mellon University and the Directorship Certified designation from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
She currently serves on the executive committees of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas and Junior Achievement USA. She is the current president of Financial Executive Internation Houston and a member of the Board of Directors of the FEI Houston Scholarship Foundation and the Southwest Dressage Championships.
Lindsey Cooksen
Founder, Managing Director

Lindsey Cooksen (Founder, Managing Director) established Cooksen Wealth in 2019. She previously spent over a decade with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management as a Private Wealth Advisor, Family Wealth Director and Portfolio Management Director. She began her Wall Street career as an Analyst at Citigroup Global Investment Bank in New York and London. Lindsey currently serves as a Director of Targa Resources Corp (NYSE: TRGP), a leading provider of midstream services and one of the largest midstream energy companies in North America.
Lindsey earned an MBA and Masters in Education from Stanford University. She graduated Cum Laude from Rice University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics, Managerial Studies and Kinesiology. While at Rice, Lindsey was captain of the women’s basketball team and awarded the Joyce Pounds Hardy Award, presented annually to the most outstanding female varsity athlete for athletic and scholastic achievement.
Lindsey holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation and was named to Investment News’ 40 Under 40 in 2021. She was previously named to Forbes Magazine’s List of America’s Top Next Generation Wealth Advisors in 2018. She was selected as an honoree in the Houston Business Journal Top 40 under 40 Class of 2015. While at Morgan Stanley, Lindsey was named to the firms’ MAKERS Class of 2017 and the Pacemakers Club in 2014. She also served on the firms’ Houston Women’s Advisory Council from 2012-2018.
Lindsey remains active in the community, devoting time to a number of nonprofit organizations. She serves as an Executive Committee member of The John Cooper School Board of Trustees and is a member of Impact Church of The Woodlands. She previously served as a founding board member of Families’ Empowered for over a decade.
Lindsey returned to her hometown of The Woodlands, Texas in 2013 with her husband, Rich, who is a management consultant and native New Yorker. As a graduate of The Academy of Science and Technology, she enjoys exploring the same bike trails that she did as a child with their three children – Reagan, Scott and Zachary.
Melissa Cougle
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Ranger Energy Services
Melissa Cougle is currently the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ranger Energy Services, a North American focused oilfield service provider. Prior to joining Ranger Energy Services, Ms. Cougle was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Frank’s International N.V., a global oilfield services company specializing in well construction services. Ms. Cougle led the strategic efforts at Frank’s as well as the finance and technology organizations through the completion of the Frank’s merger with Expro Group (NYSE: “XPRO”) in 2021. Prior to Frank’s International, Ms. Cougle served as the Chief Financial Officer of National Energy Services Reunited (NASDAQ: “NESR”), a publicly-traded oilfield services provider with operations focused in the Middle East and North Africa, where she led the company through its first year as a public entity.
In addition to her role as EVP & CFO at Ranger, Ms. Cougle serves as member of the Board of Directors of Tidewater Inc., an international offshore vessel company where she is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Safety & Sustainability Committee. Prior to her CFO experience, Ms. Cougle worked for over 10 years at Ensco plc, a global offshore drilling contractor, and its legacy companies, holding positions of increasing responsibility across the finance and information technology groups. Ms. Cougle began her career at Arthur Andersen LLP serving multiple clients across several industries with a focus on industrials and energy. Ms. Cougle earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University, is a licensed CPA in the State of Texas and a Certified Director with the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Alexandra “Alie” Pruner
Independent Director & Senior Advisor
Alexandra "Alie" Pruner serves as an Independent Director on the Plains All American (NASDAQ: PAA/PAGP) and NRG Energy Inc. (NYSE: NRG) boards of directors, and also serves as a Senior Advisor to the global investment bank Perella Weinberg Partners (NYSE: PWP), where she previously served as CFO before her retirement in 2018. Ms. Pruner was a co-founder in 2007 of the energy investment bank Tudor, Pickering Holt & Co. (TPH&Co.) where she served as the CFO and on the Management Committee until the company’s combination with PWP, where she assumed the CFO role of the combined company.
Ms. Pruner currently serves as Chair of the Audit Committee of NRG, as well as for Plains All American. She previously was Chair of the Board of two privately held energy companies until their respective sales in 2025, including Encino (E&P) which sold to EOG, and Malta Inc., which had spun out of Google X and recently sold a majority stake to Cox Energy. She now serves as a Senior Advisor to Malta Inc.
An advocate for community and industry engagement, Ms. Pruner currently serves as Chair of the Texas Medical Center board, is Co-Chair of the Houston Chapter of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, and serves on the Advisory Boards of the Truro Center for the Arts (Massachusetts) as well as the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society.
Her earlier career includes roles as Publisher of World Oil, Vice President of Government Relations at Shearson Lehman Brothers, and head of Investor Relations for two NYSE-listed companies.
Ms. Pruner has been recognized for her leadership and contributions with numerous awards, including being named to the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce in 2024, as one of the “25 Most Influential Women in Energy” by Oil & Gas Investor in 2018, as well as CFO of the Year (midcap) by the Houston Business Journal in 2013.
Ms. Pruner earned an AB in Economics from Brown University. In her personal life, Ms. Pruner enjoys painting, with her work showcased at AlexPrunerArt.com. She and her husband reside in Houston, Texas, and have two married children and two grandchildren.
